When asked if we were enjoying our stay at Las Villas, our immediate response was, ‘absolutely, what’s not to LOVE about being here!’

The Villas are truly wonderful in all aspects: attentive, friendly staff; highest-quality construction, clean, and well-appointed; amazing, lush, tropical landscaping; beautiful, sparkling, oceanfront pool; spectacular, litter-free, largely-deserted, golden beach only steps from Villa; jaw-dropping views with warm caressing breezes, etc….!
And all set in a welcoming village with the most incredible food scene imaginable. From semi-upscale (yet very reasonably priced) restaurants, to local taquerias where you can feast on freshly-prepared, scrumptious guacamole, salsas, and handmade tortillas. Fresh-caught seafood ((lobster, fish, shrimp) abounds!  Even delicious pizza and Thai only moments walking or bike distance away from Las Villas!
Can I move here!  Please!!!

If you want to experience a less touristy time away in the midst of a tropical paradise, Villas Troncones is the place to be!
Great, local delectable food prepared fresh at a wide-range of nearby restaurants, breath-taking sunsets, horseback riding along the beach, or just lounging around by the pool taking in the beautiful setting all day… there’s never a moment that can’t be savored in appreciation
My time here was not long enough, looking forward to an extended stay in the near future!

Finding the Villas has been truly like discovering a hidden gem amidst the overwhelming options when it comes to chasing a holiday in Mexico.  Troncones is a lovely place away from the masses (although definitely growing, thanks to a few publications)
The area is quieter with far less traffic in comparison to the larger more hotel/resort establishments farther down, yet super convenient to several amazing restaurants, coffeeshops, and convenience stores.  Food-wise you can walk to anything you may need.
I plan on making the Villas a mainstay in my travel plans as it’s a great spot to stay whether your vacation consists of surfing sunrise and sunset, adventuring on one of the many kayaking and hiking trips available nearby, or just soaking up the sun and sand.  The yoga retreats available also look amazing and I can’t wait to find time to take part in one as soon as I can get the time off!  Til next time 🙂 10/10

I just scheduled my fifth retreat at The Villas, Troncones.  My participants love it there and insist on more.  We love the pristine, white beach, upon which one can view both the morning sunrise, and the evening sunset!  There are so few humans on this beach, but you might spot a few whales in the ocean!  The locals from the village have a monthly beach clean up day and take pride in their beautiful home.
The Villas are fully stocked homes, with everything you need for a comfortable stay.  Each villa is its own “family” and during yoga retreats, we come together as a community for meals outside and in close proximity to the ocean.  We also come together for yoga, which is also outdoors, on wooden platforms placed between the palm trees, which are used as corners for shades, guided in different positions at different times of day. All mats, blankets and props are provided, as well as a microphone and speaker for the instructor, something I appreciate so I may still have my voice by the end of the week.  The background sound of the waves is something to embrace!
At the center of the Villas is a gorgeous salt water infinity pool, with lounge chairs and shade or sun.  This is an afternoon favorite, following a jaunt into the village for a coconut.  Most of my participants can be found there, napping, reading, or bobbing around on a noodle and making lifelong bonds with new and returning friends.  The grounds surrounding the pool and and within the oasis of the Villas are gorgeous. Flowering bushes and lucious trees abound and are beautifully maintained by the Villas staff.
The staff also does an excellent job with house cleaning, managing the organization of the group as well as troubleshooting.  And then there are our delicious meals! They are prepared by locals who know where to get the freshest ingredients, who are creative with  menu planning, and who are great about accommodating the various food preferences among the group.  We have two large meals per day, with beverages and an evening dessert included.
As a group leader, I’ve found everyone at the Villas very easy to work with and extremely pleasant. I enjoy the warmth of the people in Mexico very much, and the Troncones folks are no exception.  The staff form a family who’ve worked together for many years, and who clearly care about and take care of each other. That care then extends to our group.
There are opportunities before and during the retreat to purchase snacks and alcoholic and other beverages. I’ve found people really enjoy the freedom to stock up on things they like to have around and have refrigeration, blenders, coffee makers, and everything they need to have some independence and relax.  There are small shops in the village worth visiting for these things as well.
Also in the village is a weekly “Farmers Market” of local food and artisan wares and live music. I have a favorite jeweler from whom we purchase gorgeous pieces every year. He’ll bring things right to the Villas and has a shop in town. There’s music from live bands offered a few nights a week, and, of course, the baby turtle release. Also quality restaurants to choose a night on the town, if desired.
I recommend the Villas to other retreat leaders.  It’s perfect for yoga but I can imagine other types of groups enjoying the venue as well.
I look forward to being there in the winter months and knowing we will have a quality experience!
